Dr. Naveed Zaman is Dean of the College of Natural Sciences and Mathematics and professor of mathematics at West Virginia State University, where he leads transformative initiatives in cybersecurity, engineering, and agricultural education. He has spearheaded the development of innovative academic programs, including degrees in cybersecurity, engineering, computer science, and plant and soil science, aligning academic offerings with workforce and research needs. A strong advocate for applied research, grants, and capacity building, Dr. Zaman has supported initiatives that enhance student success, infrastructure, and interdisciplinary collaboration. His leadership was instrumental in securing ABET accreditation for the university’s engineering program and advancing its Carnegie Research Colleges and Universities (RCU) designation. He has played a key role in institutional accreditation efforts and strategic planning, while fostering partnerships with industry, government, and academia to expand opportunities in cybersecurity research and agricultural innovation.
