About me
Sandra Gorka is a Professor of Computer Science and former Department Head of Information Technology at Pennsylvania College of Technology, where she has taught since 1997. Although she retired in 2024, she is a part-time instructor. She holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in mathematics from Shippensburg University and an additional master’s and doctorate in mathematics from the University of Delaware. Dr. Gorka is an active contributor to national efforts in IT and cybersecurity education, presenting at ACM SIGCITE and participating in panels on topics such as AI, security, and IT curricular guidelines. Her research and scholarship include work on IT curriculum development, cybersecurity education, and experiential learning. At Penn College, she guides program development and mentors students preparing for careers in computing and security.
