About me
Reed Nonken is an Associate Professor of Business at the University of Maine at Presque Isle, where he teaches across both the Business and Criminal Justice programs and plays a central role in curriculum design, assessment, and academic governance. He is a primary architect of UMPI’s expanding portfolio of business programs, including new graduate programs, and numerous concentrations and minors in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity, MIS, and Entrepreneurship, as well as modular graduate pathways and competency-based YourPace offerings. Reed’s academic and professional work focuses on responsible AI integration in higher education, adult learning, instructional quality, and process improvement, drawing on applied frameworks such as Lean, DMAIC, and Quality 4.0. He also serves as co-chair of UMPI’s AI Committee and leads initiatives that build faculty capacity in AI literacy and ethical AI use. Reed is committed to designing accessible, inclusive learning environments and advancing faculty-driven governance to strengthen academic integrity and student success.
