About me
Rajiv Malkan, Ph.D. is a seasoned higher education leader with more than 35 years of experience spanning academic affairs, workforce development, and global education initiatives. He has served as a Founding Dean and Division Chair, leading curriculum innovation, strategic planning, and instructional delivery across open-entry/exit, competency-based, and online models. A pioneer in stackable credentials, he has developed programs in emerging areas such as Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence.
Dr. Malkan has secured federal and state grants and is currently engaged in projects integrating AI, drones, robotics, and VR into curricula. including service as Co-PI for an NSF-funded National Information Technology and Innovation Center (NITIC) and participation in NSF’s Bringing Research and Innovation to Community Colleges (BRICCS) initiative. His research focuses on advancing undergraduate research in AI, data science, cybersecurity, and generative AI.
His global engagement includes research and teaching in India, Vietnam, and Kosovo. A frequent conference presenter and thought leader, he focuses on AI, data analytics, cybersecurity, and institutional transformation in community colleges and corporate education
