About me
Dr. Nelbert “Doc” St. Clair is an Associate Professor of Cyber Defense at the College of Coastal Georgia, where he teaches cyber defense and security and mentors aspiring professionals. He brings more than a decade of experience coaching high‑performing teams in the National Cyber League and is widely regarded as a committed, student‑centered mentor. A retired Army officer, Doc served 23 years on active duty, including two deployments, before transitioning fully into higher education. His interest in technology began as a teenager exploring discarded electronics from RadioShack, sparking a lifelong passion for IT. Over the years, he has worked across federal and state government, the private sector, and the military, developing deep technical and leadership expertise. With more than 14 years of teaching experience, Doc is currently building a cyber defense program from the ground up, an endeavor he finds deeply rewarding. He holds a Doctor of Science from Robert Morris University, with additional degrees from Webster University and the University of Nevada, Reno.
