About me
Dr. Miller earned a Ph.D. and M.S. in Mathematics from the University of Delaware and a B.A. in Mathematics with a Computer Science concentration from Shippensburg University. After nearly a decade at IBM as a senior operations research analyst, he began a teaching career in 1997 spanning mathematics, computer science, information technology, and cybersecurity. He retired in 2020 as Associate Professor and Department Head of Information Technology at Pennsylvania College of Technology and continues to teach part-time.
Dr. Miller played a key role in ACM’s IT2008 curriculum development and in shaping ABET accreditation criteria for Information Technology. He guided the creation of IT and cybersecurity programs at Penn College and authored numerous works on IT curriculum and pedagogy. His recent focus has been K–12 cybersecurity awareness through two NSF-funded projects that equipped teachers and students with practical security knowledge and career awareness.
