About me
Dr. Kristine Christensen is a Professor of Computer Information Systems at Moraine Valley Community College with more than twenty years of experience teaching and developing curriculum in web development, user interface design, programming, networking, robotics, and engineering technology. Her work emphasizes applied, student-centered learning that helps students build the skills and confidence needed for academic and career success.She also serves as Director of Faculty Development, where she leads professional development initiatives for faculty and staff. Dr. Christensen guides cybersecurity faculty fellowship programs and develops resources for career counselors and advisors to strengthen academic-to-career pathways. She serves as Principal Investigator or co-Principal Investigator on multiple funded initiatives and is leading efforts to establish an AI Institute at the college focused on teaching, learning, and the responsible use of AI.Dr. Christensen holds graduate degrees in business, information systems, teaching and learning, and mass communication, and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Cybersecurity at Georgia Institute of Technology.
